Bulgarian venture capital fund LAUNCHub Ventures said on Wednesday that it has led a $7 million (6.5 million euro) seed funding round for Croatian-founded, US-based offensive AI security platform SplxAI.

The round also saw participation from US-based Rain Capital and Runtime Ventures, Poland’s Inovo Venture Partners, Norway’s DNV Ventures and Serbia’s South Central Ventures, without disclosing the size of its investment.

The financing will accelerate the development and adoption of the SplxAI platform, allowing organisations to secure internal AI agents and customer-facing applications through automated security testing, dynamic remediation and continuous monitoring of AI systems.

LAUNCHub general partner Stan Sirakov is joining SplxAI’s board of directors, while Sandy Dunn, former chief information security officer (CISO) at US-based Brand Engagement Network, is stepping in as CISO to lead the company’s governance, risk and compliance offering.

“AI agents have the potential to redefine the business landscape, but as their adoption increases, so does the potential for abuse. SplxAI is the only vendor with a plan for managing this risk at scale,” Sirakov said.

Founded by Kristian Kamber and Ante Gojsalic in 2023, SplxAI is a comprehensive platform for offensive AI security. Its automated, scalable solution detects, triages and manages AI risks in real time, ensuring secure AI deployment at scale.

LAUNCHub Ventures invests in early-stage startups in Southeastern and Central-Eastern Europe, focusing on AI, machine learning, software as a service, financial technology, property technology and robotics.
