The financing round was led by Garage Angels and Electron Capital Partners, with JIC Ventures joining as a new investor alongside existing backers Gain Ventures and Eva Janečková. The newly raised capital will accelerate the development of additional AI-powered diagnostic solutions, support expansion into new healthcare markets, and make clinically validated artificial intelligence accessible to more hospitals, physicians, and patients worldwide. At the same time, Carebot is preparing a larger investment round targeting up to €10 million to fuel its next phase of global growth.
From COVID-era startup to international healthtech player
Founded in 2021 by Matěj Misař, Daniel Kvak, and Karolína Kvaková, Carebot originally focused on helping physicians evaluate chest X-rays during the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, the company develops AI software that assists radiologists in detecting abnormalities in X-ray and mammography scans, including early signs of lung and breast cancer.
Over the past year, Carebot has more than tripled the number of hospitals using its technology. Its AI solutions are now deployed in hundreds of healthcare facilities across eight European countries, as well as in Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates.
In the Czech Republic, Carebot has become one of the country’s most widely adopted AI solutions in healthcare, with customers including University Hospital Olomouc, Na Bulovce Hospital, and St. Anne’s University Hospital Brno. The company has also established partnerships beyond healthcare providers, including a collaboration with pharmaceutical giant Bristol Myers Squibb aimed at improving lung cancer detection and treatment pathways.
Strong commercial momentum
The investment comes during a period of exceptional commercial growth. According to the company, contracted monthly recurring revenue (MRR) increased by 750% year-over-year, while signed customer contracts indicate that recurring revenue is expected to grow more than tenfold by the end of this year.
Although Carebot has not disclosed its absolute revenue figures, the reported growth places it among the fastest-growing AI healthcare companies in Central Europe. Since its founding, the startup has raised approximately €3 million from investors including Garage Angels, Electron Capital Partners, JIC Ventures, Gain Ventures, Eva Janečková, BHM Group, StartGuide VC, Pilulka Lab, entrepreneur Matěj Turek, and several angel investors. The latest funding pushes the company’s total capital raised to well above €4.5 million.
Investors back both clinical validation and commercial execution
Investors say Carebot stands out not only because of its AI technology but because it has successfully translated certified medical products into large-scale clinical deployment. “Carebot belongs to a small group of European medtech companies that have managed to overcome one of the biggest challenges in AI diagnostics — moving from a certified product to real-world deployment across hundreds of hospitals with measurable clinical and commercial impact,” said Marek Nechvátal, Managing Partner at Electron Capital Partners.
According to the investors, the combination of strong clinical validation, physician trust, and rapidly growing commercial traction made the investment decision straightforward.
AI expands into breast cancer screening
Alongside the funding announcement, Carebot introduced Carebot AI MMG, a certified AI solution designed to assist radiologists in interpreting mammography examinations. The software functions as an independent second reader, automatically highlighting suspicious findings while also evaluating the technical quality of imaging examinations.
According to Carebot, when AI MMG classifies a mammography scan as negative, the result is confirmed in 99.6% of cases, allowing radiologists to work more efficiently while reducing the risk of overlooked findings.
The launch addresses a major healthcare challenge. According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), more than 542,000 women were diagnosed with breast cancer in Europe in 2024, while nearly 140,000 died from the disease. In the Czech Republic alone, approximately 7,700 new breast cancer cases are diagnosed annually.
Artificial intelligence is already becoming part of routine breast cancer screening in the country. Around 30% of Czech mammography centres currently use AI-assisted diagnostics, with many more evaluating similar technologies.
Building AI as the new healthcare standard
Carebot currently offers three certified AI products covering radiology and mammography, with additional solutions already under development. CEO Matěj Misař says the company intends to maintain its rapid growth by expanding its product portfolio, strengthening its team, and deepening partnerships with hospitals and global pharmaceutical companies. “Our goal remains unchanged: to make artificial intelligence a standard part of healthcare,” Misař said.
