Czech Startup Adam Raises €3M to Expand Beyond Europe and Launch New Trades

Adam, a Czech startup revolutionizing the way clients find reliable and available tradespeople, has secured €3 million in late-seed funding. The investment comes from Brighteye, a leading European edtech venture capital firm. Let’s dive into the details:

After a successful expansion to 11 European countries, Adam now plans to extend their services beyond Europe and into more construction trades. Brighteye, the leading European edtech VC, supports the startup’s endeavour with €3 million in late-seed funding.

Adam makes it easy to book tradespeople online. To date, the company has focused on painting services and apartment renovations. Year-on-year, Adam has served three times the number of projects and boasts more than 15,000 completed jobs. 

“Undoubtedly, traditional craftsmanship is in need of modernisation. That said, no one has yet managed to solve all three decisive factors – quality, availability, and price – simultaneously. We decided to tackle this complex situation one trade at a time. Our vision is that one day you will be able to build an entire house through Adam,” says Adam’s co-founder Roman Sysel

The startup has ambitious plans for further development. The new investment will be used to strengthen their position in markets where the service is already successful. Additionally, Adam plans to expand into new cities and countries outside of Europe, broaden its offerings to new trades, and build a development team to enhance automation and further improve the customer experience.

The support and optimisation the platform provides helps contractors grow their business and take on more complex and better-paid projects. “Trade professionals generally spend a lot of time with site inspections, work planning, and customer communication. Adam takes care of everything for them, allowing tradespeople to triple the number of jobs they can handle in a month. This translates into a massive increase in efficiency, enabling them to charge less. In other words, customers save money while craftsmen earn more. It’s a win-win situation all around,” explains Adam’s co-founder Jakub Dvorak. 

“It’s remarkable to follow Adam’s success and the results they’ve achieved since the previous Presto investment – including their expansion into new countries and the launch of renovation and brick-masonry services. We’re certainly proud to be Adam’s first VC investor, concludes Roman Novacek, partner at Presto Ventures, which backed the company with a €1M seed investment a year and a half ago.
