Ukraine and Norway have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the development of defence innovations and are launching a joint programme, Brave-Norway, with a budget of €20 million.

The Brave-Norway programme will fund innovative solutions for the front line and strengthen the defence and technological capabilities of both countries.

According to Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the programme will include grant support for startups working on unmanned systems and other defence technologies. Joint hackathons will also be held to identify practical solutions capable of changing the battlefield situation, and platforms will be created to integrate research institutions.

In Ukraine, the programme will be implemented by the Brave1 defence innovation cluster. Norway will provide €10 million in grants through the Innovation Development Fund for technology developers whose work could have a decisive impact on the course of the war. These solutions will be tested in Ukraine.

Recently, Norway officially opened a training camp for Ukrainian soldiers in Poland. It is considered one of the largest camps Norway has ever deployed abroad.
