Finding quality professionals has never been so easy and transparent. Adam, a successful startup already operating in Portugal and over 10 other European countries, is transforming how people find painters and other home renovation specialists.

With more than 20,000 completed projects and €3 million in investment, Adam is not slowing down, aiming to enhance customer experience and expand to more cities. Adam addresses a common issue many face: the lack of transparency, availability, and affordable pricing when hiring professionals. The platform allows customers to find trusted painters and builders, offering a simple and transparent process from the very first contact. With an online calculator, Adam provides an instant cost estimate, doing away with complicated price lists. Furthermore, customers can place requests with just one click and count on the assistance of a professional at their desired location and time. The platform is already available in Portugal
at: www.adampintores.pt.

“At Adam, we want to show that it’s possible to modernise a traditional trade. We focus on quality, availability, and fair prices, working to enable customers to transform their spaces with ease. Our long-term goal is for it to one day be possible to build an entire house with Adam,” says Matej Trubac, Regional Manager of Adam.

The average waiting time for a painter used to be around three weeks. However, with the launch of our platform, we have significantly reduced this period. Now, even during the busiest times, customers can find and book a trusted painter through Adam in just a few days, ensuring quick and efficient service. Adam began its pilot operations in Portugal in Lisbon and Porto. Thanks to high customer satisfaction and growing demand, the company has expanded its presence to cities such as
Braga, Aveiro, and the Algarve region. “We are thrilled to see how our services are transforming the customer experience in Portugal. In our office, we already have a dedicated team of 12 people helping bring the Adam experience
to more cities and professions,” adds Matej Trubac.

In 2024, Adam received €3 million in investment led by the British fund Brighteye, one of Europe’s leading educational technology funds. This investment will be used to strengthen Adam’s position in the markets where it already operates successfully and to expand into new cities and professions. Part of the funding will also go towards enhancing process automation and further improving the customer experience. This amount adds to the investment received in 2023, when Markus Villig, founder of Bolt, together with Presto Ventures, invested €1 million in the company.

Ben Wirz, founding partner at Brighteye, comments: “We’re excited to support Adam’s vision of modernising a trade that has remained unchanged for decades. Adam not only provides an agile and reliable service for customers but also helps professionals enhance their competitiveness and grow in their fields.” With a successful track record, including tripling the number of annual projects, Adam shows no signs of slowing down. In the coming months, the startup has ambitious plans to expand beyond Europe and add more professions to its platform. Its vision is clear: to simplify and modernise traditional trades, empowering both customers and professionals.
