Historic success for a Slovak startup: crypto-investment platform Fumbi will represent us at the Global Startup Awards finals in Istanbul, Turkey. The company made it to the world edition of the entrepreneurial competition by winning the regional round. If it wins the public's favour, it may also succeed in September's global final.

Already at the regional level the competition was extremely strong. Fumbi competed in the Central European Startup Awards against startups from all over Central and Eastern Europe. It received the most votes from the public, winning the People’s Choice category. It went on to the global edition of the competition.

„Participating in the Global Startup Awards is a big commitment for us. I see it as the best confirmation of our contribution to making cryptocurrencies become a mainstream investment for everyone even faster. I am proud of the whole team and we are keeping our fingers crossed in the international competition,“ said Juraj Forgács, CEO and founder of Fumbi..

The platform has more than 140,000 (to confirm) registered users, making it equal to a smaller bank in the number of clients. The company is also opening its doors to the public to the world of crypto thanks to the Fumbi Academy, which, in addition to cryptocurrency knowledge, also educates on NFTs or how the blockchain works.

„At Fumbi, we are able to bring crypto topics closer to the people because we are a fantastic collective that literally lives them. Personally, I see this as our main strength. All the more so because crypto is a very dynamic and strongly growing sector in which something is constantly changing, emphasized Boris Haško, CMO and co-founder of Fumbi. Fumbi was ranked among the top 1%. The Global Startup Awards is the largest independent competition that uniquely connects the startup ecosystem across the globe. The vision is to find and support the top 1% of entrepreneurial startup stories from around the world. You can vote for Fumbi here.

The renowned platform creates added value by connecting all relevant players in the startup system. This applies to startups and entrepreneurs themselves, as well as to government institutions, corporations, the third sector and experts.

The initiative is continuously expanding to other countries around the world. It is currently present in more than 120 countries. These are divided into 12 regions. It all started with the establishment of the Nordic Startup Awards (NSAwards) as the first region created in 2012. Subsequently, in 2015, a central brand that connects all regions was born – under the banner of Global Startup Awards.

One of the most important values of the competition is its independence: the winners never pay any event-related fees.
