If you follow Czech startups, you know of Hustá, whether you’ve realized it or not. The PR firm has repped many of Czechia’s up-and-comers over the years, and its client list reads like a who’s who of everybody who is anybody in Czech tech. I sat down with the CEO and founder Jan Husták in Hustá’s Karlín office to find out more about his mission.
In the Czech startup scene, Ondřej Krátký is a respected figure who built the successful Liftago, then exited to continue with his new project, Grid.online. He’s also a vocal proponent behind a push for change in local legislation. We sat down in his Karlín office to talk about what he thinks needs to change to make Czechia more attractive to startups.
There’s no doubt that AI is changing our world at a massive pace, but how can it benefit startups? We visited Prague Crawl, Czechia’s very first web scraping and AI conference, to ask industry leaders their thoughts.
For all its strengths, the Czech startup scene is facing some systemic hurdles that stymie its growth. One of the biggest contenders looking to change the status quo is Czech Founders, the group that serves as both a social gathering for startup founders as well as a lobby group that represents their interests. I sat down with Czech Founders’ director Barbora Werdmölder for her take on what needs to change in Czechia.
In the Czech VC scene, Presto Ventures’ Vojta Roček stands out: outspoken, brash, and with a firm view of how things work. I sat down with him to find out more about his approach, the state of the world, and how his fund is looking at the future.
