Excited to introduce you to what we’ve been cooking in our Startup Kitchen the past few months 👉 new regular meetups for our tech & startup community in Prague.
Our mission is simple: a high quality guest list representing individuals from diverse fields such as startups, founders, aspiring entrepreneurs, the public sector, government innovation organizations, investors, and representatives from the tech industry; together in same place and time every first Tuesday in a month – to make it easy for them to remember and plan. We are creating a place for new collaborations and strengthening old relationships, for knowledge sharing and supporting innovation boost.

On the first Tuesday of every month, we can now come together in an informal atmosphere and meet the people who matter most. Our roots trace back to the early days of the Czech Republic’s startup era, where the concept of connecting like-minded individuals proved to be incredibly successful. Building on that legacy, we are creating a space, a platform where everyone knows what’s happening on the first Tuesday in Prague!

The same place, the same time, and an excellent guest list. TRUESDAY. No bullshit. One open meetup for you to build new relationships or expand existing ones.

💥 On September 5 we kicked off this our new initiative  – our recurring event for the startup community and introduced it with a burning level of honesty and true insights. 🔥

⚕️Together with Jana Bednářová from PSYRES , the Czech Psychedelic Research Foundation and Jiri Diblik from VOS.Health — AI Wellbeing Companion, we tackled the importance of psychedelic research and the mental toll the founder’s life brings in panel discussion Safeguarding Sanity in Startups: Navigating Success with Mental Health💊 . Jana, with 20 years of experience in project management, marketing and customer care, shared valuable insights she’s gained through her work at PSYRES. Jirka, inspired by his own struggles with anxiety and panic attacks, created the app to help people worldwide track their moods and improve their mental wellbeing. To date, it has helped over two million users. They spoke candidly about the challenges of balancing demanding work cultures with personal wellbeing.

Next was unique offer for early stage startups: Investor <> Startup speed dating. Investors: ZAKA VC, CzechFounders VC, Fazole Ventures, Startec Ventures, QQ Capital, Impulse Ventures, Soulmates Ventures.

The event concluded with a roundtable on implementing employee stock options in Czech startups. Legal expert Tomáš Ditrych provided tips and answered attendees‘ questions on this timely topic.

Partners of the event: Impulse Capital and Bageterie Boulevard.

Organizers of the event: Truesdays and Startup Kitchen

Europe has never had a talent problem. We produce world-class STEM graduates at a rate that rivals the United States, and our startups-per-capita numbers are neck-and-neck with Silicon Valley. Yet, for decades, we have suffered from a “legal friction” that acts as a gravity well, pulling our most successful companies across the Atlantic.

DYPE is a Czech success story: a small startup that made it big both here and in the United States. Now, the company is looking to make it happen a second time with a new startup, as well as trying to help others emulate its success; I chatted with Marián Tomko, DYPE’s director, at the Opero coworking space to find out more.
